The Trade Centre Wales has supported Dowlais Boys & Girls Club with a £1,000 advertising deal at Dowlais Engine House.

Up to 300 children attend each week after school until 8:00 pm, with many children having their evening meal at the club before returning home by one of the three minibuses donated by Merthyr Motor Auctions.

In a statement, Dowlais Boys & Girls Club, said: “There has been little to no funding and grants given so we have been reliant on local sponsorship to keep the charity going.”

The club organises numerous events for the boys and girls that attend, including sporting activities, martial arts, arts and crafts and entertainment nights. This is made possible with the money raised from sponsorships, donations and advertising secured with companies such as The Trade Centre Wales.

With an on-site snack shop and breakfast club, Dowlais Boys & Girls Club is expanding the support it offers young people in Merthyr Tydfil and the surrounding areas, providing them a safe and fun environment to develop social skills and community spirit.

Mark Bailey, founder and Chairman of The Trade Centre Wales, said: “This is an excellent cause that provides essential support to young people in the area, and we are proud to be supporting them.”

The Trade Centre Group actively participates in community initiatives and charity fundraising, having helped to raise over £350,000 for NSPCC which is the company’s chosen charity, whilst also offering kit sponsorship opportunities for grassroots sports teams in the community.
