Trade Centre UK, sister brand of The Trade Centre Wales has donated £30,000 for the Childline’s ‘One unforgettable Day’ initiative, which involves a donation to the counselling service through the sale of the first 1,000 used cars and donating £30 for each car sold.

This latest contribution from The Trade Centre UK will be given to Childline, a branch of the NSPCC which offers free, impartial support an advice to young people across the UK. The charity provides counselling 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and is open every day of the year.

A meaningful donation

Currently, Childline is only able to answer three out of every four calls they receive. The ultimate goal of the charity is to be able to answer every call that comes through, and Trade Centre UK is committed to helping turn this goal into a reality.

The sponsorship from Trade Centre UK is supporting Childline’s ‘One Unforgettable Day’ campaign, a full 24 hours during which every call, text, and email to Childline is answered. This costs £30,000 in total, and the car supermarket group plan to sponsor five ‘Unforgettable Days’ by raising a total of £150,000 for the children’s charity. Within the last year, the company has raised a running total of £32,222.46 from a range of fundraising initiatives.

The support from Trade Centre UK is helping our counsellors at Childline to be there for as many children as possible.

“Sponsorship from Trade Centre UK will help us to answer every call from every young person, and we are so grateful to be continually chosen as their partner charity. The money makes all the difference to the young people we support; for many, the day that they contacted Childline was life-changing, and without sponsorship we wouldn’t be able to offer this vital support.”
