Trade Centre Wales continued its commitment to supporting local communities this week as Ambassador Gareth Thomas visited Ysgol Hen Felin for a memorable day of fun, encouragement and first-time experiences at Pen Y Graig golf course.

The visit saw Alfie spending time with pupils at the special school, where he joined the children for a game of golf — a sport many of them had never tried before.

The day was filled with laughter, excitement and plenty of encouragement as the children stepped outside their comfort zones and embraced a completely new activity.

The session formed part of the ongoing Trade Centre Wales community engagement programme, which aims to create positive experiences and opportunities for young people across Wales. Alfie spoke passionately throughout the visit about the importance of inclusion, confidence and giving children the opportunity to try something new, regardless of their ability or background.

Founder and director of Trade Centre Wales Mark Bailey commented on the wider importance of the company’s community work across Wales.

Mark Bailey said:

“Community engagement remains a hugely important part of what we do at Trade Centre Wales. Supporting opportunities for young people, especially experiences that help build confidence and create lasting memories, is something we’re incredibly passionate about. We’re proud to continue working with Alfie as part of our commitment to communities across Wales.”

Staff at Ysgol Hen Felin welcomed the opportunity for pupils to take part in an activity many may never otherwise have experienced, highlighting the value of inclusive experiences that encourage children to have a go and enjoy new challenges.

The visit is the latest in a series of community-focused initiatives delivered through the Trade Centre Wales engagement programme, reinforcing the company’s ongoing dedication to making a positive difference throughout Wales.
