The Trade Centre Wales community engagement programme is making a powerful impact across South Wales, with momentum continuing to build thanks to the dedication of our brand ambassadors and team.

From schools to grassroots initiatives, Gareth “Alfie” Thomas has been out in the community, visiting projects that have thrived with support from Trade Centre Wales. His presence highlights our unwavering commitment to investing in local people, education, and opportunities that make a real difference.

Alfie visited Ysgol Hen Felin, an additional needs school in Rhondda, where Trade Centre Wales is proudly sponsoring their annual swimming gala. This inspiring event brings together six additional needs schools for a day of fun, confidence-building, and teamwork — with every participant receiving a medal in recognition of their amazing efforts.

Mark Bailey, Founder and Director of Trade Centre Wales, commented:

“We’re incredibly proud to support Ysgol Hen Felin and their wonderful swimming gala. The water provides a unique environment where children with additional needs can move freely, express themselves, and experience real joy. Every child deserves that opportunity — and we’re honoured to help make it happen.”

Alfie added, “It’s not about who gets to the finish line first — it’s about giving everyone the chance to reach the starting line, step into the water, and feel that confidence grow. The water gives them a sense of freedom and connection that’s truly special.”

Trade Centre Wales would like to extend thanks to all the Governors / teachers and volunteers who gave up their time to help, either in the water or at the side-lines to make this event possible. It did mean five other schools in South Wales were able to take part and enjoy this fun water-based opportunity that wouldn’t normally be possible, these included Greenfield in school n Merthyr, Ysgol Y Deri in Penarth, Ysgol Calon lan in Swansea, Ysgol Hendrefelin in Neath, And Greenhill Special School Cardiff.

We believe in giving back to the communities that support us. From school sponsorships and sports equipment donations to food education projects and inclusive community events, our community engagement programme continues to expand across South Wales.

We’re proud to play a part in helping schools like Ysgol Hen Felin thrive creating opportunities for learning, wellbeing, and togetherness for generations to come.

Trade Centre Wales are proud to support South Wales communities, local schools, and future generations.
