Trade Centre Wales Honoured to Present Award at Nation Radio’s Pride of Wales Awards 2025
Tuesday 17th June 2025
Trade Centre Wales was honoured to be invited to take part in this year’s Nation Radio’s Pride of Wales Awards — a celebration of Wales’ unsung heroes who go above and beyond to make a positive impact in their communities.
Trade Centre Wales Head of HR Adam Sherief, joined by brand ambassadors Mike Doyle and Alfie, had the privilege of presenting one of the evening’s most moving accolades — the Child of Courage Award.
This year’s award went to the inspirational Evelyn Smoothy, who has shown incredible bravery and strength throughout her young life. Born with a serious heart condition, Evelyn had her first open-heart surgery at just four days old. Now 14, she has undergone three more surgeries and lives with a weakened immune system, which often means missing school and time with friends.
Despite these challenges, Evelyn remains full of determination and dreams. A dedicated horse rider, she aspires to one day compete in the Paralympics, showing courage and ambition that captured the hearts of everyone in the room.
“We were deeply moved by Evelyn’s story — she is a true inspiration,” said Adam Sherief. “To be able to recognise her strength and courage in front of her proud family and friends was a real honour.”
Mark Bailey, Founder and Director of Trade Centre Wales, added:
“It is an honour to support Nation Radio’s Pride of Wales Awards. These stories remind us of the incredible strength within our communities. Evelyn’s resilience is nothing short of extraordinary”.
Trade Centre Wales is committed to celebrating and uplifting individuals across the country who make a difference. Supporting Nation Radio’s Pride of Wales Awards is part of the company’s ongoing dedication to giving back to the communities it serves.
