Trade Centre Wales is proud to continue its commitment to community engagement, recently supporting a meaningful and uplifting event at Nolton Church Hall in partnership with Alzheimer’s Society Cymru.

The session, part of the “Singing for the Brain” initiative, was led by the talented Lorraine King and supported by Trade Centre Wales brand ambassador Mike Doyle, who joined attendees to share in the power of music.

Mike’s involvement was warmly received, with Lorraine expressing her gratitude for his contribution. His presence allowed her the opportunity to step back and enjoy the session, while participants benefitted from his enthusiasm and willingness to engage.

Speaking about the impact of the sessions, Lorraine highlighted the profound effect music can have on those living with dementia. She explained how participants were not only singing together, but also connecting on a deeper level — making eye contact, engaging emotionally, and, in some cases, communicating in ways they typically do not.

She noted that music reaches parts of the brain that remain responsive, even when other areas are affected, helping individuals to reconnect and express themselves. The result is a noticeable lift in mood, with the positive effects of a single session often lasting up to a week.

Founder and Director of Trade Centre Wales, Mark Bailey, said:

“We are incredibly proud to support initiatives like ‘Singing for the Brain’. Seeing first-hand the impact that music can have on people living with dementia — bringing joy, connection, and confidence — is truly inspiring. At Trade Centre Wales, being part of our community and supporting causes that make a real difference is at the heart of everything we do.”

The event was a powerful reminder of the importance of community, connection, and the role that simple, shared experiences can play in enhancing wellbeing.

Trade Centre Wales is honoured to support initiatives like “Singing for the Brain” and remains committed to making a positive difference in the communities it serves.
