Today was a proud moment for everyone involved in the Trade Centre Wales Community Engagement Programme as Afon y Felin School celebrated their first-ever netball victory while wearing their new TCW kit.

Just a few years ago, the school faced challenges in taking part in sports due to a lack of funding for equipment and resources. Thanks to the support, encouragement and investment provided through the Trade Centre Wales Community Engagement Programme, pupils have been given opportunities to participate, develop confidence and enjoy the benefits of team sport.

Ex Wales Rugby player Alfie, and Trade Centre Wales Ambassador, explained how the support has benefitted Afon-Y-Felin over the past three years:

“It’s been fantastic to see the pupils’ confidence grow alongside their progress, leading to today’s first netball win.”

Mark Bailey, Founder and Director of Trade Centre Wales, said:

“We’re incredibly proud to support Afon-Y-Felin through our Community Engagement Programme. Seeing them achieve their first netball win shows exactly why it matters.”

This achievement highlights the positive impact that community partnerships can have, helping young people access opportunities, build confidence, and create lasting memories through sport.
