We’re known at The Trade Centre Wales for supporting our local communities, whether it be through national charities such as the NSPCC, our Kit Klub scheme or one of the many local sports teams. We are continuing this support to Swansea RFC. As one of the main rugby teams in South West Wales, we’re thrilled to be given the opportunity to sponsor the ground at the St Helens.

Trade Centre Wales continues support for the NSPCC image

Our chosen charity at The Trade Centre Wales has always been the NSPCC. Including the events we’ve held within our showrooms, personal treks and challenges our chairman Mark Bailey has taken part in, not forgetting the NSPCC events in which we’ve supported, we’ve raised well over £100,000 for the NSPCC. The good news is we are continuing that support this month (October). Throughout October we will donate £50 for every used car sold in our branches located at Neath and Merthyr Tydfil, with an aim to sell 1,000 cars throughout the month it should in total generate a massive £50,000 for the NSPCC!

The end of the Tax Disc image

So with October 1st looming we thought it best here at Trade Centre Wales to educate buyers on what to do when buying their used cars in South Wales! First of all, why are the DVLA scrapping the tax disc? Well, it’s been around for more than 93 years after being first introduced in 1921… (Where they cost around £6). So we know it’s old, more importantly there are enough ANPR cameras on the roads now to enforce it, it’s extremely rare to find an authority checking tax discs; aside from the mobile DVLA units. Locally speaking, we’ve spotted permanent ANPR cameras being setup around our Neath site, and also just about every junction leaving the M4 around Swansea and Cardiff. Somebody say big brother?
