Abergavenny Town Football Club will have it’s very own senior women’s team next season with the formation of Abergavenny Women Football Club and will be welcoming the likes of Cardiff City, Swansea City and current Champions Cardiff Metropolitan University to Pen y Pound stadium competing in The Welsh Premier Women’s League.

After a six year gap, Monmouthshire has a representative in the final of the FAW Trophy, and the Town got there in spectacular style. Facing higher rated opponents from Wrexham, Town shrugged off their under-dog mantle and produced a stunning result. Craig Norman set them on their way, carrying the ball from mid-field before sliding it past the Queens Park ‘keeper on 12 minutes.
